1892-1953

   Hijo de actores, actor infantil el mismo, junto a sus padres y sus hermanos, entra en el cine en 1915. Director desde 1920, trabaja, entre otros, con Buster Keaton, para el que dirige todas las peliculas, mudas y sonoras, producidas por Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Tambien dirige, durante la epoca del cine mudo, a actores como Tom Mix y Hoot Gibson en westerns que no tendran continuidad en el sonoro, en el que solo al final de su carrera, y en tono parodico, realizara una postrera muestra del genero, al parecer por recomendacion del propio Buster Keaton, co-autor del guion. Se dice tambien que en realidad la pelicula la dirigio F. Sylvan Simon aunque fuera Sedgwick el unico acreditado.
